Founded in 1969 in Vila-real (Castellón), TODAGRES S.A. is a company that is specialized in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of Technical Porcelain tile.
Todagres S.A., has been able to develop an innovative company since its inception, as a pioneer in new products and production techniques, making a great qualitative leap in 1998 when as a result of incessant work, a new product was created: The Todagres Porcelain Tile¨, currently one of the best considered Porcelain Tile brands, and surely the one that best expresses the spirit of work, research, and business innovation.
One of the elements that inspires the action environmental policy at Todagres is the commitment to the protection of the Environment in all its interventions. Todagres as a company is aware of the current and growing environmental problems, and therefore commits itself to the prevention, protection, and conservation of the Environment in all its activities.
The environmental policy at Todagres is based on two basic principles:
Compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, and continuous improvement in all manufacturing phases in order to protect the environment.

Take the necessary measures to prevent polluting and, where this is not entirely possible, minimize pollutant emissions through the installation of filters to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Systematically reduce waste through the correct treatment of the various types of waste:
Recycling of plastic generated in the packaging process.
· Use of multiple-use wood pallets (Europallet.)
· Reuse of 100% generated wastewater, “Zero discharge” using three treatment plants.
· Take the necessary measures to ensure compliance of our activities with the applicable environmental legislation at European, State, Regional, and Local level.
Train and educate our employees about the potential environmental aspects that can be generated in our manufacturing process, encouraging the development of environmental best practices in each of the jobs.
Periodically defining environmental objectives and goals that capture our commitment to continuous improvement.
Establish programs to achieve a dynamic and continuing improvement of our environmental performance, implementing adequate methodologies and practices in order to define the environmental objectives and goals.
Todagres has one of the most modern facilities in the market for the manufacture and management of Technical Porcelain. The various sections that complete the creation and production process of this ceramic product are divided throughout an industrial plant of 140,000 m². As you can see, it is the product of the future.
This product, the Todagres Technical Porcelain, offers durability, resistance (to detergents, fire, blows, impact, acids,) hygiene (absence of own or acquired odor, easy to clean, does not emit dust, has no pores,) and beauty in all its versions (polished, natural, rustic, non-slip.)
The Todagres Technical Porcelain is a ceramic product of high quality. It is not glazed, it is colored throughout its mass, and offers greater advantages than other traditional construction and/or decoration materials such as marble, granite, stone, slate, resin, or cement.
The Todagres Technical Porcelain manufacturing process is quite advanced, as it applies the most cutting-edge technology on the market: laser guide, automation, and control through specific programs.
Our internal factory Laboratories carry out a control of incoming raw materials, a “just-in-time” quality monitoring, and a finished product control, in order to provide our products with a high quality. Likewise, external laboratories assess our products periodically with certified technicians.
According to the formulation proposed by the Department of Compositions, raw materials are mixed, mainly: 50% feldspar, 30% clay,10% kaolin, 9% sand, and 1% additives (Deflocculants.) Pigments to color the paste (piece) vary by model and are added afterward.
This mix is carried out in ALSING-type mills, and through friction and with a controlled load of alumina balls it is milled to a dense liquid called slip. This slip contains the formulation of the Todagres Technical Porcelain and is stored in ponds before coloring it.
Once the slip is colored, a moisture extraction is carried out through the Spray process. As its name suggests, it is atomized using hot air. This clay, with a humidity between 5— 6%, is stored in silos for subsequent pressing.
Todagres is an accredited member of the Spain Green Building Council (CCVE,) a national association that works to promote environmentally responsible and profitable cities and buildings that are healthy for the persons living or working in them. Todagres, as a member of the Spain Green Building Council, is one of the companies that are currently committed to innovation and is working every day for a manufacture that is responsible and differentiated in environmental and quality terms.
The LEED Standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) represents nowadays the most widespread system of building certification in the United States, and is spreading throughout the world; the Green Building Council promotes the green building construction industry, including environmentally responsible materials, sustainable architecture techniques, and compliance with current public regulations. This standard has been developed by the U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL, an organization that promotes sustainability in design, construction, and operation of buildings in the U.S.
Todagres is an accredited silver member of the U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL.
The UPEC certification, established by the French CSTB, requires a control on products certified by it and their marking, monitored through annual audits. Four letters (UPEC) together with numbers (0 to 4) are used for the classification of tiles. Each UPEC letter refers to a specific characteristic of the material:
U – wear resistance
P – resistance to perforation / breakage
E – resistance to moisture effects
C – resistance to chemical agents and stains.
UPEC codes assign a numerical value ranging from 0 to 3 or 4 to each letter. The higher the number, the greater the corresponding resistance. Any specific information, as well as the certified products from TODAGRES, can be found on the CSTB website.
